Matosinhos – A Land of Fishermen and Sailors – SMT MTS

Matosinhos is a city since ever deeply connected to the sea. Known by its very authentic fishermen community, it´s a place with a lot to see and to get to know besides the coast and the beach it self. It´s still surprising how such an interesting place, so near from Porto, is still so much “out” of the touristic circuits.

Vitória forms what can be considered a very significant part of the city heart. In this area of Vitória you can find several of the city traditional trade and shops. Also some of the most known monuments but this side of Vitória is much behind that … there are secrets and stories hidden in places that most part of the population passes trough every day without knowing or noticing … this Tour is an invitation to get to know several of them.

Where Porto meets the Atlantic – SMT11 (Foz do Douro)

Foz do Douro is a very special district in Porto. Naturally is the place where the Douro River meets the Atlantic. Therefore it has been since centuries ago a land of fisherman and sailors, developping its very unique identitiy and personality.

Vitória history is deeply connected with the history of the last jewish gheto in Porto but there are many other elements of historical and social interest. Vitória is very deeply into the medieval art of Porto so its streets are so rich in terms of traditional trade and traces of a sort of recent and not so recent past.
